junction of Hwy. 14 and Hwy. 60 in Gotham.
43°12’18”N, 90°16’50”W alt 210 m.
T 8 N; R 2 E; NE^NEVi sect. 5.
Edge of dropoff from the flat dry sand terrace to the
Wisconsin River floodplain marsh.
Shrub, 2.4 m. tall (to 3 m. tall here), with numerous slender,
erect stems. Forming a population in the marsh, now during
flooding with 0.5 meters of water, but only in a line, and not
found in the wooded slope down from the sand terrace ca.
10 meters higher, nor in the open marsh with patches of
Spiraea alba. Pistillate; no fruit open in the field, but some
cracking during drying to reveal the white seed hairs.
