Marsh in floodplain of Pine River, tussocks of Carejc,
shrubs of Salix eriocephala, S. bebbiana, with Betula
papyrifera, Pinus strobus and a few young Larix laricina.
Shrub 2 m. tall, of many slender stems to 1.5 cm. in
diameter and 7 years old, in a clump, and grown together
with other clumps of this species; similar in habit to Nee
63489 S. eriocephala, but more slender and pistillate catkins
darker. Voucher for wood specimens at Kw, Lw, MADw,
RSAw.
