Lucy Dickerson was born September 30, 1871,
in Harrison County, Ohio. She entered Ohio Wesleyan
University as a middle-preparatory student in 1888.
This Herbarium was a summer assignment in Botany
in 1889. She received her B. A. and was elected to
Phi Beta Kappa in 1894 and on June 28, 1894 married
her classmate of six years, George Richmond Grose,
who became President of DePauw University in 1912.
Mrs. Grose died May 30, I960.
