foothills before opening out to the east onto the plain. Dry
forest on flat area, with Anadenanthera, Pterogyne nitens,
Samanea tubulosa, Phyllostylon rhamnoides, Achatocarpus
praecox, Capparis speciosa, C. tweediana, C. prisca.
18°55.24’S, 63°26.22’W. alt. 450 m.
"pica-pica". Small tree 7 m. tall, 10 cm. in diameter, gets to
be at least 12 m. tall and 20 cm. in diameter here; sap milky;
hairs stinging! Petals white.
