18°03’30"S, 64°25’30"W. alt. 1575 m.
Barren cactus desert with Harrisia tephracantha,
Neoraimondia herzogiana, Schinopsis, Capparis retusa,
C. atamisquea, C. speciosa, much ground cover of
Selaginella sellowii, but grazed. Near but apparently
not on the peculiar white hills of Miocene San Isidro
Formation tuffite.
Shrub 1.5 m. tall, spreading branched, to 3 m. tall
here. Sap milky. Hairs stinging! Flowers white.
