just above expanded leaf base. Infl. 1.55 m
tall, 39 cm wide at widest point, with bracts
early deciduous; stalk sterile the lower 65
cm, 20 mm diam. at base; 44 2° panicle
branches, the longest 24.0 cm long; longest
3° panicle branch 5.0 cm long; tepals white.
Arroyo Yubay, ca. 0.4 km west of Tinajas de
Yubay and ca. 2.3 km ENE of abandoned mine
at El Desengaño, on northeast-facing slope
