KAURI: Hanalei District, Liaahuli Valley, upper preserve.
Riparian vegetation along Liaahuli Stream. Most of canopy
destroyed by Hurricane Iniki (92) and understory heavily
invaded by Cl ideaia hirta. Native taxa include Boehaeria,
Pipturus, Hedyotis, Bidens, and Thelypteris. Introduced taxa
include Stachytarpheta, Blechnua, and Rdiantua. Elev. ca
1700 ft.
Spindly tree of IS ft.; leaves glossy aediua to dark green
with pale green aidvein, below glossyt silvery-green; petals
of tale flowers dull pale green\ iaaature fruit glossy aed
green.
