Phytogeogr. value: A plant of the Mediterranean -
Irano-Turanian group of connection.
One of the commonest summer segetal plants of Palestine
generally accompanied by Heliotropium villosum, H. europaeum,
Euphorbia aleppica and other summer weeds. Met with also in
fruit gardens, vineyards and similar habitats.
In Cisjordania this plant is common in the Med. territory
and met with in the less arid parts of the Saharo-Sindian terri-
tory. In Transjordania, in the same habitats C. verbascifolia occurs
