Phytogeogr. value: A Sudano-Deccanian species, penetrating into the Saharo-Sindian region and into other tropical regions. This plant was found in Palestine only on the coastal plain, on heavy soil inundated in winter. It is a frequent associate of Cryp- setum minuartioides. Until 1927 it was not reported from Palestine.
