Description
Cultivated plants. Origin northeastern New guinea, lowland forest near Lae., col. R. E. Holttum s.n., in 1963. Type plants cultivated at Kew. Kew Accession No. 578-63-57807. Spirit material and sections at Kew. See illustrations in Kew Bull. 32(3), 1978. Stipe 4.5 ft. long, blade 9 ft. long, 9 ft. wide, 13 pairs of pinnae. Total weight of frond 8 lbs. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.
