Polypodium Scolopendria Burmann f., FI. Indica, 232,1768. Rhizome stout, creeping. Stipes up to 30 or more cm. long. Blades up to 40 or more cm. long, simple but deeply and broadly divided to near the midrib into several linear- lanceolate, acute lobes. Sori large, commonly in two rows on the lower surface of the lobes. A common weed in clearings and in rocky areas (9586). The leaves are used in preparing native medicines. Native name, mamanu.
