Description
spore length: 5 microns; spore width: 2.5 microns; spore shape: elliptical; spore texture: smooth; spore color: clear; spore print color: white. Michael Kuo commented that he believes cinnabarinum and granulosum are equivalent species. These specimens not checked for cheilocystidia. Close examination by Dr. Methven (see annotation above) combined with the 2015 DNA analysis confirmed that this specimen is Cystoderma cinnabarinum. For further information on this species, not this exact specimen, go to Michael Kuo's website: http://www.mushroomexpert.com/cystoderma_cinnabarinum.html.
