Description
spore length: 5 - 7 microns; spore width: 3 - 4 microns; spore shape: bicornute, one oil droplet at times; spore texture: smooth, thin walled; spore color: clear; spore print color: white. The smell of the gills is like rubber (not pleasant). The white veil is evanescent (sometimes disappears) and other times forming a thin, fragile, median to superior ring on the stalk (note the ''Bi-lateral Photo''. The mushroom half way down on the far right side). Close examination by Dr. Methven (see annotation above) combined with the 2015 DNA analysis confirmed that this specimen is Lepiota cristata.
