Mixed Dipterocarp forest, associates include: Shorea,
Dryobalanops, Myrtaceae, Sapotaceae. Red clay soil.
Morphology:
Tree 16 m tall, 25 cm dbh. Outer bark light greyish-red,
rugose. Inner bark red. Wood very hard, sweet aroma.
Leaves dark green, leathery, mid-rib sunken. Pulvini
distinct. Petals translucent green, pilose, 5. Stamens 5.
Local name: Embah Cerila.
Notes: Fruit edible, sweet.
