? Baccaurea aff. tahitensis Mueller-Argau, DC Prodr. 15(2) : 463, 1866.
Tree about 5 m. tall. Leaves alternate, oval-ovate, entire or slightly undulate, essen-
tially glabrous, tijp to 15 or more cm. long, pinnately veined, base rounded or subacute,
apex acuminate, petioles up to 5 cm. long. Flowers and fruit not seen.
In forested areas (9773). A fast red dye is obtained from the bark. The
wood is used for house construction, and parts of the plant are used in native
medicines. Native name, koka.
