Eroded basaltic slope with sandy soil, juniper-grassland
with Juniperus, Yucca glauca, Bouteloua gracilis,
Hilaria jamesii, Tetraneuris, Penstemon albidus,
Asclepias asperula, Chaetopappa, Dalea purpurea.
Shrub, 30 cm tall, corolla and filaments deep, dull pink,
anthers yellow; uncommon.
