Roadside, prairie on eroded limestone, with Ulmus,
Celtis, Cercis, Bothriochloa, Glandularia, Monarda,
Chamaecrista, Sorghum halapense, Hymenopappus,
Solanum, Oenothera, Linum, Helioptropium, Liatris,
Asclepias asperula, Engelmannia, Plectocephalus.
Caespitose perennial, 60 cm tall, petals yellow;
occasional.
