    NYBG Accession Number:245/97*A. Tree 15 foot single specimen. Leaves: long stalked, 3 to 5 lobed, more-or-less sticky-hairy with blades of variable outline, up to 4 inches long by 6 inches broad. Leaves are pale green and are pubescent slightly sticky ot the touch and smell musty when rubbed. Flowers in clusters on young shoots; calyx 5 sepals and a 2 inch long corolla with a narrow tube and an oblique face of 5 wide-spreading, somewhat unequal, about 1 inch long, rounded, bright yellow petals. The throat of the flower is stained with an amethyst colored ring about half an inch in diameter. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
