Ferns of Sultanate of Oman Dhahirah Region; Wilayat Mahdhah PTERIDACEAE Adiantum capillus-veneris L. sensu Miller & Cope 1996, Flora of the Arabian Pen. & Socotra. Date: January 19, 2009. CJ.Rothfels #2720, with Peter Rothfels, Paul Rothfels, M.Almack. Determination: C.J.Rothfels, January 2009 South of A1 Madam on Highway E44. 5.3 km south of the border post; 9.4 km south of the Shell Station roundabout. In wadi, ~150m east of the highway. Two patches ~15m apart. Each ~3m long, 20cm high, and densely packed with plants (living and dead leaves). Plants were on vertical wadi wall, slightly overhung, right at the edge of the wet sand or standing water, with Nerium oleander, etc. The wadi was narrow, with steep walls, and at, least semi-permanent clear flowing water (lots of toads). Coordinates: N24.78164 E55.94923 +/-6m. 372 m elevation. Duplicates: 4.: DUKE;. MO; UC; ¡NY. Plants seemed strongly dimorphic ~ some leaves have deeply divided finger-like pinnules, others more circular pinnules. Field collection number: CUAE02.
