Penck, north of S.D.A. Mission, Talasea, New Britain, Lat. 5 28 S Long, 149 38 E Habitat; Lowland rain forest on ridge. Altitude 450 feet. Annot. Tree; buttresses 2\ ft. by 1 ft, or smaller. Height 90 feet, bole 40 ft., d.b.h. 14 inches. Bark red-brown, smooth with wide deep fissures filled with lenticels. Inner bark dark red; blaze light orange. Wood straw. Odour and. exudate absent. Leaves dark green on upper surface; light green on lower surface. Fruit brownish-green; occurs singly. Local name Kaemi. Aleurites moluccana (L.) Willd. det.: W. Stuppy (Rijksherbarium, Leiden) Fam.
