5A 30 Flora of Bolivia Family: Alismataceae Echinodorus grisebachii Small Determined by: N. Ritter (NHA), 1998 Department of Santa Cruz Province of Velasco Lago Caiman; a "bahia" which receives water from the Rio Itenez during the rainy season, and is isolated during the dry season. Elev: 200 meters. Center of the collecting area ca. 13°35'58"S. 60°53'55"W. Emergent. Growing along the banks in formerly submerged areas. Fairly abundant locally. Flowers white. Fruits present along higher areas of the banks. Habitat: the edges of the channel that connects the basin with the river. Substrate sand. The channel was still inundated at the time of collection, but was separated from the river by 6/26/98 #4368 Collected by: N. Ritter, G. E. Crow , M. Garvizu and P. Soliz.
