SA 5/3 Flora of Bolivia Family: Asteraceae ^ Sonchus oleracea L. Determined by: N. Ritter (NHA), 1996 Department of Cochabamba Province of Cercado City of Cochabamba Laguna Alalay. A large (ca. 175 ha.) lake with deep, anaerobic sediments. Elevation: 2550 m. S.17°24'20" x \N.66°07'45" Robust herb; up to 1.6 m tall. Stems hollow with fairly abundant latex. Growing in depths of up to 20 cm. Locally abundant. Flowers: yellow. Vegetation type: Valles Secos Interandinos.
