Description
Free floating aquatic herb, almost covering entire surface of the pond. Some plants turning reddish. These plants first appeared in this body of water about June 1998. It is rumored that someone transferred them from a nearby aquarium. the staff has tried using nets to eradicate the population, but it now too entrenched throughout the pond. It is hoped that the plants will not overwinter and will not be a problem next year.
