    Tidal zone occupied by Glaux maritima, Salicornia, Spartina, Spergularia canadensis, Plantago maritima with numerous seeps eminating from bluffs above gravel-stone beach.

    Herb growing in fresh water seeps at high tide mark, stems prostate ascending from slender roots, rooting at nodes, plants forming dense patches two meters or more in diameter.
