km east of the junction with MEX 15 along the road
leading to Microondas Las Avispas, 28°28'50"N,
11 l°0r43"W, 250 m. Locally common shrub to 2 m
high, the inside of the sepals yellow (fading dark
purple-black); north-facing hillside in
desertscrub/thomscrub with Abutilon incanum,
Acacia willardiana, Ambrosia ambrosioides, Bebbia
juncea, Bernardia cinerea, Bursera microphylla,
Caesalpinia pumila, Cordia sonorae, Croton
alamosanus, Croton sonorae, Encelia farinosa,
Jatropha cuneata, Marsdenia edulis, Passiflora,
Perityle palmeri, Porophyllum pausodynum.
