Acalypha stipulacea ICLotz« Slender erect tree in rich moist humus covered aoil of forest© at 20 feet elevation; stem terete, 3 inches thick, 16 feet high, the main branches arising from the middle; wood soft, dingy white, odorless, a trifle sour to taste; bari brown with few gray blotches, smooth, with numerous fine grayish white lenticells, green except the epidermis, easily stripping; branchlets slender but not numerous, forming a flattish crown, brown exoept the suberect green tips; leaves ample, mostly horizontal, submembranous, recurved especially toward the apex, much paler beneath; spi&es pale green, ascending and recurved; the pistil greenish white, but turning reddish when old; fruits young but distinctly trigonous; green; "Balingod*" ,t0W“ ml- ELMER'S FIELD NOTES BROOKS POINT (ADDISON PEAK).
