In dark shade of forest on steep
slope. Leaves dark lustrous green.
Forested foothills of the mountains east of Quepos, Pacific Slope of the Talamanca Range. Evergreen tropical wet forest formations with a dry period from December to April. Unusually dry at this time with very little flowering in the forest understory. Puntarenas Province. 9° 29' N.
X 84° 3' W. 150-250 m. elevation.
