YEMEN ARAB REPUBLIC, Ibb Governate, about 1.5
air miles SW of Ibb, common along terrace
edges and boundaries between -fields, waste
areas in villages, elev. ¿400 ft.
Rosette to 2.5 m. tall? leaves broadest at
middle, 1-1.2 dm wide, concave slightly on
upper surface, radiating at about 45 degrees,
narrowed slightly just before flared base,
perhaps 50-100 leaves per plant;
inflorescence to about 10 m tall, widely
branched in typical agave "candelabra"
fashion; large proportion of flower
apparently viviparous, producing plantlets in
inflorescence which fall to ground and
rapidly root.
