PLANTS OF ILLINOIS, USA Euonvmus europaeus L. Celastraceae Det: S.R. Hill, (ILLS) 2006 WILL COUNTY 41.562278 °N. Lat., 088.007056 ° W. Long. T. 36 N, R. 10 E, SE/4 SE/4 NE/4 Sect. 31. Lockport; site is at the northwest and southwest comer quadrants of Gougar [often spelled Gouger] Road at Oak Avenue, in a residential - developed area. Joliet 7.5' quadrangle. Elevation 204 m (670 ft). Coordinate datum WGS 84 / NAD 83. Caton Farm Road alignment. Alluvial soil. Very degraded creekside woodland, understory, with Comus racemosa, Parthenocissus, Lonicera, Crataegus, Toxicodendron. Scarce small tree about 4 meters tall, fruits pendulous, outside of fruit pale strawberry pink, seeds and arils orange; leaves very dark green above, slightly paler below, stems green on last branches.
