DEPTO. SANTA Cruz, Prov. Vallegrande, at “Quebrada la
Lajita”, 4 km (by steep dirt road), 2.5 km (by air) SW of
plaza principal of Vallegrande.
18°30’22”S, 64°07’31”W. ait. 2360 m.
Lowest edge of bosque tucumano-boliviano woodland,
above the Dodonaea angustifolia zone. Collections mostly
from “lajas”, rock pavement of shale and sandstone with
bedding planes at same angle as the slope. Surrounding
slopes with Prunus tucumanensis, scattered small
Podocarpus parlatorei, Myrcianthes callicoma, M.
osteomeloides.
Petals light pink-purple.
