Non-flooded moist forest.
Plant forming a crateriform rosette of yellow-green (some
what cinnereous below) leaves. Inflorescence to over 150
cm long, with about 12 axilary branches, red and yellow
at the end of the branches. Floral bracts erect, but the
flowers turning somewhat downward secund. Petels
erect, purple, including the stamens. Not very common
epiphyte.
