Erect shrub 9dm tall; stems orbicular; fruit taste intermediate to Opuntia chlorotica and O. engelmannii', photos; buds collected 11 June 2002, from individual in cultivation at Chino Valley, Arizona 10 June 2002 and fixed in Camoy's II; n=33 during meiosis of microgametogenesis.
