Saydak Creek from its junction with Kako river;

(never flooded) white sand forest to 30 m. high,
canopy partly broken« Ground vegetation sparse,
mostly the saphcphyte Yoyria aphyllao . Included
a small (old Akawaio camp) clearing with
Schizaea pennula & incurvata. Little leaf litter
Schizaea
Common in clearing, not occurring-even
under neighbouring light shade. Roots &
old stem bases down to 5" in damp white
sand. Stiff, upright. Often with
lichens 1339» 13^0 at base, growing on
small mounds (to 2M high).
