Floodplain forest of Acer rubrum, Ulmus americana. 41°28’45”N, 73°34’44”W. alt. 112 m. Herbs with rhizomes. Forming huge, nearly monospecific stands in partial opening or in understory, abundant in meadows along river between here and Patterson and often still in bloom in open sunshine and even wetter soil.
