of plant light, yellowish-green. Spines pale
amber, caespitose, or, more rarely, single old
plants froming clumps of about 10-1$ stems.
Stems globose, average diameter about 10-15 cm.
Flower from near apex erect, narrow-tubed, tips
of segments reflexed, somewhat zygomorphous.
Tube with rather distsnt scales bearing
neither spines nor hairs• Only 1 fresh flower
seen*
