    Narrow strip of rocky land bordered by lake shores; common large Pinus strobus (perhaps planted), also frequent Quercus rubra, Carya ovata, Fraxinus pennsylvanica (10s of small trees along trail); also Fagus, Betula lenta, Q. bicolor, Q. coccinea, Fraxinus ?biltmoreana; on ground, Toxicodendron radicans (common), T. rydbergii, Celastrus orbiculastus, Clethra alnifiolia, Rubus allegheniensis, Eurybia divaricata, E. macrophylla, Arctium, Artemisia ?vulgaris.

  • Description

    Tree ca 15cm dbh, 8 m tall; no dieback; densely hairy in contrast to relatively smooth tree along lake shore (Campbell 2016.08-15). No fruit.
