Eden, ‘the barrens’ chaparral, 8.0 km WSW of Beaumont. Elevation about 1700 feet. Base of lower south-facing slopes of sedimentary area and bluffs. Chaparral with Simmondsia, Quercus, Encelia, Salvia. Flowers nearly white, pale lavender-pink tint; locally common shrub 1.5 m tall, leaves pleasantly aromatic. Steven R.
