The New York Botanical Garden Plants of U.S.A. Malvaceae Althaea rosea L. det. M. Nee, 2008 Wisconsin, Richland Co., along Eagle Cave Road, 2.4 miles by road W of Basswood and Co. Hwy. E. 43°14’51”N,90°31’59.5”W. alt. 270 m. T 9 N; R 1 W; middle NE V2 NE % sect. 19. Woods on slope near ridgetop, with Acer rubrum, Populus deltoides, Juglans nigra, Acer negundo, Laportea canadensis, Celtis occidentalis, Ulmus rubra, Acer saccharum. Colony with Ambrosia trifida, very shaded for both of these species, at edge of woods and near where rubbish dumped, with many young plants (rosettes) where mowed at immediate edge of gravel road. Flowers white or deep reddish pink. 03856653
