Approximately half a dozen clumps; each clump approximately 1 ft wide.
Growing in clay and humus soil. Associated flora includes Erythronium
americanum, Berberis thunbergii, Carpinus caroliniana, Carya sp.,
Maianthemum racemosum, Eurybia divaricata, Sambucus canadensis,
Actaea sp.
