Location Notes
Note from Thomas Lammers (2015) : "NY-385376, Agalinis skinneriana, is not from Iowa but Indiana. In his "Class-book of Botany," which was the protologue, Wood spelled out Iowa and abbreviated Indiana as "Ia." When he wrote on the species later [An account of six new species of plants. [First published in the Class-book of Botany.] Proceedings of the American Association for the Advancement of Science 7: 175--179 (1856)], he made it clear it was from Indiana. The eponym, Albert Gallatin Skinner (1807--1891), was Wood's brother-in-law. having married his sister, Sibyl Dutton Wood (1812--1848)."
