Very weedy former 30 year-old Pinus strobus
plantation on W-facing sandy slope, cut down
last fall; thick layer of pine needles and
dense and healthy growth of annual and bien-
nial weeds common in the region, Solanym
ptychanthum, S. dulcamara, Cirsium vulgare,
Chenopodium gigantospermum, Verbascum
thapsus, Ambrosia artemisiifolia.
Two plants seen, 1 m. tall. Flowers white
and pinkish. Species never before seen on
this farm; only seen twice in the county
during 25 years of botanizing.
