Santa Susana Mtns., Western Transverse Range: Newhall Ranch,
west side of Salt Canyon watershed, toward Tapo Canyon, 1.2 km
west of Los Angeles Co. line (Val Verde 7.5’ Q.: 34° 22'50"N,
118o41’30"W). Alt.: 351-579m/il50-1900ft. Ridge running
east-west with clay-loam solid derived from sandstone; dense
coastal sage scrub with Salvia leucophylla dominant.
South-facing slopes with many herbs and scattered shrubs.
Scarce annual; fls. purple. One sizable colony on a ridgetop, S to
SE exposure.
