Bouteloua eriopoda/Achnatherum neomexicanum grassland with
Achnatherum hymenoides, Aristida purpurea, Artemisia
bigelovii, Atriplex canescens, Bouteloua gracilis, Castilleja
angustifolia, Chaetopappa ericoides, Cylindropuntia whipplei,
Etymus etymoides, Ephedra torreyi, Ephedra viridis,
Erioneuron pulchellum, Glossopetalon spinescens, Gutierrezia
sarothrae, Opuntia erinacea, Pleuraphis jamesti, Rhus
trilobata, and Symphoricarpos longiflorus.
TYPE LOCALITY for Cereus mojavensis Engelm. &
Bigel var. zuniensis Engelm. & Bigelow. Cespitose perennial
rooted mostly in crevices of pale gray to tan limestone; frequent
but not abundant; spines mostly very pale pink-gray,
occasionally red-brown; Only a few individuals with flowers.
