In low woods with much Liquidambar, Betula nigra, Acer carolinianum, Nyssa biflora, Salix nigra, Quercus (michaixii, pagoda, ?shumardii); also Platanus, Ulmus americana, (Liriodendron, Carya illinoinensis); Alnus, Cornus (stricta, ?obliqua), Ostrya, Carpinus, Ilex verticillata, Viburnum nudum, Vitis ?cinerea.

Description
Tree 2 dm dbh, 15 m tall. Fallen fruits. Locally frequent. Phenology of specimen: Fruits from ground only.
