valley c. 8.5 km west of Broadwell Dry Lake (Sleeping Beauty
15' Q.: 34°50N, 116° 17W,±1000m; T9NR7E S31). Alt.:
671m/2200ft. Alluvial slopes cut by many washes; rocky,
gravelly and sandy soil; creosote bush scrub with Larrea,
Ambrosia d., Ephedra cal., Hymenoclea s., Acacia g.,
Psorothamnus spi., Bebbia, Encelia frut., Echinocactus, Opuntia
ram., O. echin., etc.
Fairly common annual on wash banks and S-facing slopes; fls.
blue.
