I sa The New York Botanical Garden Plants of BOLIVIA Cactaceae Cèreus dayami Speg. det. M. Nee, 1994 Depto Santa Cruz, Prov. Andrés Ibáñez, Jardín Botánico de Santa Cruz, 12 km. E of center of Santa Cruz on road to Cotoca. 17*46* to 47’S, 63°04’W. alt. 375 m. Cultivated at the buildings, but from native plants in the Garden or vicinity; this is the only large columnar cactus native in the area. Only faded flowers at 9:00 A.M. Outer tepals dull light reddish or brownish, the inner ones white. Fruit green, becoming light reddish; pulp white, edible, very muscilaginous; seeds black. Coll.: M. Nee 44810 2 Feb. 1994 03858646
