Cultivated at the buildings, but from native plants
in the Garden or vicinity; this is the only large
columnar cactus native in the area. Only faded
flowers at 9:00 A.M. Outer tepals dull light reddish
or brownish, the inner ones white. Fruit green,
becoming light reddish; pulp white, edible, very
muscilaginous; seeds black.
