The New York Botanical Garden Plants of BOLIVIA Cactaceae Cereus £ /fi. A/jU, ¿DO ^ Depto. Santa Cruz, Prov. Cordillera, 7 km NW of turnoff from highway at Río Seco on dirt road toward La Florida. Chaco forest on slightly rolling area, sandy soil. With Astronium, Anadenanthera macrocarpa, Phyllostylon rhamnoides, Bromelia serra, Capparis speciosa, C. retusa, Ximenia americana. 18°38.46’S,63°17.61’W. alt. 525 m. Small "tree” 8 m. tall, with nearly terete trunk 18 cm. in diameter with 4 rows of large spines. Beginning to branch at 2 m. above ground, the branches ascending and the ca. 40 ultimate branches erect, mostly 6-ribbed. Flower buds only. Coll.: M. Nee 51418 15 Nov. 2000 03858S83 03858583
