17’35”S, 63°18’27”W. alt. 365 m.
Flat chaco shrubland with a discontinuous overstory of
Aspidosperma quebrachoblanco, and with Celtis chichape,
Caesalpinia paraguariensis and a few other species. With
Castela coccínea, Quiabentia verticillata, Pereskia
sacharos a, and in understory Bromelia serra and
Ruprechtia triflora are common.
Apparently the common dominant understory terrestrial
bromeliad here, but very few blooming or fruiting. Base of
inflorescence bracts red-orange. Flowers visited by a
butterfly, white, with purple.
