Growing under shade of trees. Leaves to 1.3 m
tall. Fruit green with whitish powder.
Pastures and remnants of woodland on sandy and whitish pumice and
tuff soils, trees 5-10 m. tall on well drained sites and taller on deeper
soils, with Quercus oleoides common over a wide area; 200-250 m. alti-
tude. About 8 km. due north of Liberia, Prov. Guanacaste. 10° 42’ N.
x 85° 27’ W.
