PLUMBAGINACEAE Plant with elongate, spatulate leaves to lOin long, a woody rhizome or caudex, inflorescences to 18in tall, and white to pale blue flowers. Locally common. Growing in a salt marsh along a roadwith Aster subulatus, Atriplex patula, Baccharis halimifolia, Chenopodium ambrosioides, C. berlandieri, Distichlis spicata, Iva frutescens, Kochia scoparia, Phragmites communis, Salicomia europaea, Solidago sempervirens, Spartina altemiflora, Suaeda americana, S. linearis, and S. americana X S. linearis. Moore’s Beach, about 1-mi S. of the intersection with NJ rt. 47 along Moore’s Beach Rd., Cumberland Co. 39° 11 ’ 30”N, 74°57’01”W. UTM 18 504302E, 4337832N. Coll.
